Description

So the wait is over. I've finally finished this stencil that's been owning my life for the past few weeks. I think it was worth it though.

4275 squares. I cut it out twice since my method of making stencils forces me to do twice the work, but it lets me make sure everything is perfect by the end. So that's actually 8550 squares that are all about half a centimeter wide.

I took this picture (which was taken by ~Frozen-in-time1) and used photoshop to make the halftone filter. I think it was 700 dpi, 20 frequency, and squares. It's A3 sized, printed off on 4 A4 sheets and taped together.

Here's some detail shots, since it may be hard to believe this is actually a stencil.

and a far away shot so you can see the halftone effect as it's intended to be seen. It helps to close your eyes til your lashes blur your vision, or step back from your monitor a few feet.

My next stencil is also going to be a halftone, and I think this is the start of a new addiction for me. I hope I won't bore you with these thousands of little squares. I'm sure I'll take breaks for normal stencils somewhere in between.

Please let me know what you think of this stencil. In my opinion, it's my all time best; but I could be biased on how much work I've put into it.

it sounds stupid but you can get a thing called a rastorbater and it cuts out all the work out and it just prints off :)
you can get decent programmes to do it and it cuts out a hell of a lot of hassle :)
