Wolverine Deck by truemarmalade Wolverine Deck by truemarmalade
I found some amazingly styled drawings of wolverine and had to make stencils out of them.

Three layers for all.

Set of details: [link]

I was informed that the artist whom originally drew the pictures I used for reference is [link]

Just made it for myself to skate. If someone really wanted one, I could probably do another.

This is great - I saw these images of Wolverine before and had a similar idea. Kudos on pulling those images off in such a great manner. Composition is sweet (and I happen to ENJOY negative space/minimalism.. pshaw for filling up crap).

I'm a big fan of minimalism as well. I considered doing a background of something nice and gnarly, but the wood grain is too nice to completely cover up

I like this but the left makes it seem lke yu put too much negative space which can easily be fixed if you could make it bigger, i guess.

All of my grip tape paint jobs leave the top half mostly empty, so that the design is on the tail of the grip only

Nice work, as always. INMHO, the profile view is lacking detail in the face, since it's just the grey layer. Would have liked to see a bit more detail there. But that's my only critique.

The reference pics were short on detail as well. It was a chore to get even three layers out of them

It's a big 4 day event that happens in SD every July. Big time comic book and vinyl toy vendors are there, as well as big time movie stars and tv stars. It's a gathering for the nerds, basically (I go every year). They have an art show where people can submit art and sell it. Your wolverine deck would probably sell right away. Dont know if its worth it to you to ship it, or whatever...but here's the link if you want info:
